Marine emission control

Learn more

A major focus in the marine industry is to reduce the total emissions from the world’s shipping fleet. This is because ships must comply with national and international regulatory emission requirements on SOx, NOx and greenhouse gasses before they can enter coastal waters and ports. To report, control and reduce emissions effectively, it is critical to know the true composition of emissions in real time. Today, marine emission monitoring principles are often based on fuel consumption and estimated process conditions.

Marine emission control

Solution

Tunable can provide real-time monitoring of emissions. By analysing the ships exhaust, we enable reporting of emission levels of SOx, NOx and greenhouse gasses. Knowing the composition of emission also allows for process optimization and motor control, making it possible to implement measures that reduce fuel consumption, operational costs, and emissions. Our product portfolio includes analysers for scrubber control (CO2/SO2) IMO 2020, volatile organic compounds (VOC) for shuttle tankers and greenhouse gas emission (including methane/ammonia).
